Consists of letters from Erastus B. Chase, shipmaster of the Radiant [II], and the Helen Morris, to his father and sister
Eliza. Also includes letters from his wife Ellen (who traveled at times with him) to her parents, letters from Eliza to her
parents when traveling with her brother, a letter to Nellie [Ellen Chase] from a sister, a letter from Capt. L.D. Blackman
to an Unknown Sir, and a broadside concerning an auction of salvage from the wreck of the Radiant [II]. Letters discuss everyday
life for a seafaring family. Travel included Mass., N.Y., San Francisco, England, Hamburg, and Singapore.
